When the Alpha-9 Division was formed in 2556, Johann Tarasoc was the first candidate to successfully pass Cellular Operative training and complete a mission. Since then he has been the agency's top operative, and is called in to work when intelligence must be gathered that has an incredibly high risk of capture or death. In 2569 Johann became the first, and only, Cellular Operative to be taken captive. After several weeks of torture he managed to escape and elude recapture long enough for ONI to pick him up. The exact circumstances surrounding his escape are unknown.
