Farmer's magic vegetables were a magical plot item used in the Smurfs comic book story "Salad Smurfs" that turned whoever ate them into anthropomorphic vegetables. They were created when Chef Smurf mixed more than the required amount of Papa Smurf's fungicide and fertilizer formulas into Farmer's watering can, desperate to have new fresh vegetables grown to feed the hungry Smurfs before they became violent with him.
