The Federation Uniformed Services are the various operations of the United Federation of Planets assigned some sort of uniform, including the exploratory, defense, legal enforcement, and transport services. Several of these services are under the auspices of the Starfleet Operating Forces, several others are under the umbrella of the Federation Science Directorate, and the remainder are independent arms under the appropriate departments of the Federation Cabinet.
