Asahina Duelist were taught that defense of righteousness required the use of force, especially when confronting the Taint, learning Taryu-jiai, the shugenja dueling, in the Asahina Duelist Dojo on the outskirts of Wall Above the Ocean Village. They served at court, and also in Crane armies, where they neutralized opposing shugenja by challenging them to duels.
