Roger Goff was a Deputy District Attorney in the early 1990s, and had been a prosecutor since the 1960s. In late 1989, he successfully prosecuted Gloria Jeffries for the murder of her quadriplegic husband. He is a friend of LAPD detective Harry Bosch, and "shared Bosch's affection for the tenor saxophone." In April of 1994, Bosch called Goff for information on former District Attorney Arno Conklin. In September of 1996, Bosch suggested Goff to Lt. Grace Billets as the attorney to prosecute Officer Ray Powers for the murder of Anthony Aliso. Roger's roommate is Andrew.
