The Montreal Victorias were formed in 1881 and were the second hockey club to be formed (after McGill University). They played out of the Victoria Rink. From 1886 through 1908 the Victorias played in the various major leagues. They won the Stanley Cup in 1895, 1897, 1898, and 1899. From then on the Victorias played in the main senior league in Quebec, whatever its name and makeup was. In 1924-25 the Victorias won the Quebec senior title but lost the Eastern Canada semi final. In 1927-28, the Victorias made it all the way to the Allan Cup final which they lost.
