Robert Steven Caron was selected to create a new English translation of Rene Goscinny and Albert Uderzo's "Asterix" series for sale in the United States. Caron's translations were the second attempt to introduce "Asterix" to the American market, the first being the short-lived publication of some of the stories as a syndicated newspaper comic strip.
