Bob-omb Buddies are friends and allies of Mario. Their first appearance was in Super Mario 64 as they were at war with the enemy Bob-omb race. The difference visually between a regular Bob-omb and a Bob-omb Buddy is that the regular Bob-ombs are black, and the buddies are bright pink. They have also appeared in Super Mario 64 DS, and in the Throwback Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy 2. They will help you by opening cannons through the game. A notable Bob-omb Buddy is Bombette from Paper Mario.
