Minimum range is a World of Warcraft game mechanic where certain abilities, powers, or spells could only be activated or have an effect on a target at a minimum range from the caster or user. The most notable occurrences involved use of ranged weapons which could not be fired or shot when the target was too close. Also for example, the warrior ability, [Charge], required the target to be at minimum range or more to activate. There was some information circulating that minimum range might be removed in Cataclysm, but Ghostcrawler confirmed it would remain.
