Sea serpent named after the HMS Daedalus whose crew spotted it in August of 1848 during a voyage to Saint Helena in the South Atlantic. Said to be 60ft. long. One member of the crew noted that it looked reptilian rather than serpentine. The only instance supposedly of an encounter with this particular water monster. A really famous sea serpent sighting.
