Lowlanders were the human population of northeastern Assail around the Sea of Gold and along the Bone Peninsula. The term was primarily used to distinguish between them from the Iceblood, humans of close Jaghut descent who lived in the uplands between the Sea of Gold and the Salt Mountains.
