The romance between Clark Kent and Lois Lane began to flourish in Season Eight after having four preceding seasons to build a solid foundation of friendship. In Season Eight, Clark decided to head to Metropolis, getting a job at the Daily Planet as a means to help people in need with his powers in secret while Lois was his work partner. Eventually he was forced to create a duel identity after saving Lois as he was caught on camera by Jimmy Olsen's camera as a red and blue blur---and Jimmy began to call him the Red-Blue-Blur. Clark then began calling Lois as the Blur, using a voice scrambler, thus forming an even deeper bond with Lois that had drawn them closer to each other than ever before.
