The Great Machine is a vast underground complex that stretches under the Mountain of Weeping Souls in the heart of the Amber Islands, also known as “The Old Guardian’s Peak.” The main entrance into the underground Labyrinth is a vast stone gate which bears the inscription: Let him, who enters these halls think not of glory but only of salvation. It has played a great role in the history of the Amber Islands for good and ill, and without it there might not be a Wyr race at all.
