Highway 29 starts in Tumbler Ridge at an intersection with Highway 52. It travels northwest for almost 100km, through Gwillam Lake Provincial Park to Chetwynd, and a junction with Highway 97. It then goes northwest past Moberley Lake to Hudson's Hope. It then goes northeast all the way to a its ending at a junction with the Alaska Highway (Highway 97) near Fort St. John.
