Emmett Brown's experimental sawdust dog food was used in the canine cafeteria, and had much more positive results than his experimental sawdust pancake batter, as dogs didn't mind the taste of sawdust in their food. In 1991, this invention was showcased, along with Doc's other early inventions, in a video displayed at the Institute of Future Technology. Doc later improved upon this concept with his automatic dog feeder, which, unlike the canine cafeteria, didn't require loading the dog food into the bowl manually.
