Cletis was a cheese-seller in a village near Athens. He was a member of the Cretans and discriminated against Lyla because she was married to Deric the Centaur. He normally sold a hunk of cheese for two dinars but tried to charge Lyla ten dinars for a piece the same size. He was with the Cretans who burned down Deric's home and murdered Lyla. Later, Deric pursued him and he fell to his death in a ravine.
