Ange was a friend of Mel Morton who was invited to 6 Coronation Street where Mel and twin brother Darryl held a joint 18th birthday party. On arriving with a gift for both of them, Mel advised her friend to steer well clear of Darryl as he'd already made it clear that he fancied her and was looking forward to seeing her at the party. As the evening wore on and everybody had entered into the party spirit, Mel was put out when she saw Darryl and Ange passionately kissing, totally unaware of the fact that her friend was interested in her "geeky" brother!
