Veermoks were a non-sentient primate species that lived on Utapau. The animal was native to the fringes of the planet's swamps and woodlands where it hunted prey through stealth and surprise. Veermoks avoided the deep water due to weak swimming skills. The Veermok Resistance, a rebel group opposed to the planet's occupation by the Trade Federation shipping cartel in 22 BBY, was named after the veermok.
