Zam Stellan was a Human male who held the rank of captain in the Imperial Army of the Galactic Empire. An Army pilot, Stellan was a graduate of the Imperial Academy on Raithal. He graduated among the top quarter of his class. During the early Galactic Civil War, Stellan took part in several campaigns against the Alliance to Restore the Republic. The most notable of those was the Battle of Hoth, during which he piloted the walker Blizzard 8. After the Imperial victory there, Stellan was posted on a planet in the Core Worlds as a reward for his role. However, after an incident with the daughter of a local Imperial noble, he was transferred to the Outer Rim Territories. Around that time, he was reassigned to Endor, where he piloted Tempest 1.
