Master Boyd appeared briefly in the first Mortal Kombat movie. He seems to be one of Johnny Cage's martial arts instructors, to whom Johnny shows much respect and admiration. He informs Johnny of Shang Tsung's tournament. He claimed that if Johnny were to win this competition the entire world would be informed that Johnny's martial arts prowess was not fake, as tabloids had been falsely reporting. In both the movie script and the novelizations, his full name is revealed to be Bill Boyd. Master Boyd is portrayed by Peter Jason.
