During the course of EndWar, the New Commonwealth was seen to have been fought over by the European Federation, Russia and the United States of America. It is possible that the New Commonwealth does not have the current British monarchy, because the original Commonwealth (the Commonwealth of England) which was formed after the English Civil War, had no monarchy, it was a Republic. It is also possible that the New Commonwealth is the evolution of the Commonwealth of Nations, which is an evolution of the British Commonwealth which itself is an evolution of the British Empire.
