Ted was a young man with cerebral palsy that Megan Macey and Frank Clayton met at a support group, which Megan took her daughter Eliza to. Megan was disappointed that Eliza's father Jai didn't turn up to the meeting as he felt he couldn't help her later in life, so Frank arranged for Ted to talk to Jai. Ted managed to get through to Jai, and he agreed to go to the next meeting.
