Sport plays an important part in German culture and society. Much of the population are members of various sports clubs in Germany. All are represented by the Reichssportbund (Reich Sports Federation), comprising of representatives of the varios governing bodies for each sport, the Ministry of Science, Culture & National Education and the Ministry of Transport.
