Valek was treated rather cruelly as he was trained into an Emperor's Hand by Palpatine and his followers, however after a confrontation with Exar Kun he was found unworthy of such a position and so he was given to Kun to be trained back into shape, Kun however took advantage of such an opportunity to gain himself a new apprentice who had high levels of potential, Valek soon became twisted in the plots of the reborn Dark Lord of the Sith and became his greatest agent of destruction against the Rebel Alliance.
