In 1943, RKO created the characters, Jimmy The Cat and Bob The Mouse that appeared in Whistletoons by RKO and Avenue. The first three Jimmy and Bob shorts in 1943 are in black-and-white. The rest are in Technicolor. The characters are similar to MGM's Tom and Jerry. In 1952, Jimmy and Bob won their own series. The series lasted until 1961.
