The credit chit was created during the latter days of the Old Republic, sometime between 50 BBY and 25 BBY. As the credit chip was becoming common and too dull (in their opinion), the Commerce Enhancement Corporation decided to alter the credit chips slightly, resulting in the credit chit. The credit chit was rarely used within the Core worlds or the Inner Rim. They could occasionally be found in use on planets in the Outer Rim, though only by the extremely poor because credit chits were only worth about a hundredth of a credit chip.
