d'Arezzo was a Manticoran citizen and an officer of the Royal Manticoran Navy. As a captain, he commanded an RMN vessel that intercepted a Mesan slaver and freed a number of genetic slaves. Among them were Paulo d'Arezzo and his father, who named himself and his family after the officer who had freed them when he filed for Manticoran citizenship. Captain d'Arezzo was also the main reason why Paulo joined the Navy as a young adult. (SI1)
