Mr. Jacobs is the father of Adam. He is taking care of his son Adam. Adam is a vampire and needs blood, so Mr Jacobs and his wife are feeding Adam. But then his wife dies and Mr. Jacobs is put into the hospital. There he dies. We shorty see him as a ghost, before he passes through his door. Adam could not be fed by him anymore and Adam needs to take care of himself.
