Ronn Kar applied for membership in the Legion of Super-Heroes, but was rejected, as his power to flatten his body wafer-thin was not considered very useful. Embittered, he joined the School for Super-Villains set up by Tarik the Mute, alongside Nemesis Kid, Lightning Lord, and fellow rejects Spider Girl and Radiation Roy. This was not a success. Ronn stayed with the LSV for some time without ever doing anything notably evil.
