The Tenda (Gumi) are a species in EarthBound. Initially, they are extremely shy and will not talk to Ness until they are given the book of overcoming shyness. There is a second, extroverted tribe of Tenda living in the Lost Underworld who believe that the area outside their village is a cage (despite the fact that the Lost Underworld is incredibly large and completely surrounds this Tenda tribe). The Lost Underworld, departed from the Deep Darkness Tendas because they thought they were too shy. They later regret leaving them.
