The Alderaan Department of the Arts was a government institution of the planet Alderaan. The Department of Arts had its office in the Aldera Royal Palace, which could be accessed by the First Hall. It contained four desks and several holoposters depicting Alderaanian art displays. In 0 BBY, Alderaan was destroyed by the Galactic Empire, but a sizeable portion of the Palace survived the cataclysm and was preserved with the mass of Asteroid 7785. The office of the Department of Arts was part of those miraculously preserved ruins.
