In "Brian in Love", he was hired when Brian kept peeing on the carpet and soon helped the family dog realize that he loved his best friend's wife Lois. In "Road to Rhode Island", he helped Brian realize he needs to fix his separation issues. He was called in again in "The Thin White Line" so Brian can kick his cocaine addiction. The attempt fails, and Kaplan is fired, as Brian believes he is not needed anymore. He was voiced by Law & Order's Sam Waterston in his first and last appearances, and by Wally Wingert in the appearance between the other two.
