The Magic that Binds is the sixth scenario in Masters of the Elements. While trying to reach the magic elementals and secure an alliance, Tarnum learns that the Lord of Fire has enslaved the phoenixes who dwell on the Plane of Fire. He wants to free them immediately, but the Wizards councel him to seek the magic elementals - if the Elemental Lords reach them first, Tarnum will lose the war. Reamus manages to convince him to wait before freeing the phoenixes, but as a former slave himself, Tarnum doesn't want to leave any creature in slavery.
