The story begins with Goku attempting to teach Pan how to achieve the Super Saiyan form. After a particularly brutal session, Pan asks him if anyone's stronger than him. This awakens the Dragon Balls, resting nearby, which shoot out a flash of light. When it clears, Broly stands before them, more powerful than ever before. When Goten arrives, they quickly fuse into an adult Gotenks, attacking Broly anew. While Broly is surprised by their fusion, he still easily outmaneuvers them, claiming he is even stronger than Goku. Gotenks is quickly beaten down and defuses.
