Mael was a character on Xena: Warrior Princess. He drugged his father, Anteus, to trick him into thinking that his God told him to sacrifice his younger brother, Ikus. It was actually Mael who was taking the guise of his father's God telling him to sacrifice Ikus, the reason being jealousy. Mael claimed that Anteus loved Ikus more than him (and his God) and so they should both be sanctioned for this. Xena and Gabrielle stopped Mael's malicious attempt and Xena even tried to save him when he hung from a cliff. Mael let go and comitted suicide. This final act, along with plotting to sentence his own brother to death, as well as drugging his father, proves he was a psychopath.
