Richard Holloway was the area manager of a bar where Becky McDonald applied for a job in September 2011. He and Martina Gaunt, the bar manager, interviewed Becky. Martina questioned her about her job at the Rovers Return and Becky seemed unfamiliar with many financial terms. However, Becky impressed them when she made it clear to them what she could and could not do and they offered her the job. This was pending a reference from Roy Cropper, as Becky had stated that she was manager of Roy's Rolls. Roy refused to lie and Becky was turned down the job after it became clear that she had lied about being manager.
