Zangetsu (斬月 Cutting Moon) also known as Hollow Ichigo is the manifested spirit of the Zanpakutō currently in possession by Ichigo Kurosaki. As a result of undergoing Hollowification during the trails of the Shattered Shaft, inheriting a degree of Hollow powers from his mother Masaki Kurosaki, and awakening his dormant Shinigami powers with the assistance of Rukia Kuchiki, Zangetsu is a combination of Shinigami and Hollow souls becoming a partner with Ichigo in battle yet also a threat due to its constant attempts to possess his body and power.
