The battle began when Henkka, Tapio and Aino snuck into Alex's Fortress and were confronted by him. Alex first pushed Aino into Energized Protodermis, in which she transformed into a Toa. After that, Tapio and Aino left to find Inwirn from Henkka's wish and only Henkka remained to fight Alex. This officially started the battle. Henkka and Alex battled long and hard with their swords, during which both were severely damaged. In the end, they were both dying.
