The Sark Region was a region of the Orion Colonies. When the Colonies of the Gaetano Region declared their independence in May 879 CE (reference stardate 12/7905), this triggered a war with the Botchok Planetary Congress (BPC). The BPC hired additional ships from the Sark Region, as well as the Anor and Guilpin Regions. A lack of funds eventually forced an end to combat.
