The Geothermal Powerplant is a level 2 structure available to both the CORE and the ARM. It can only be built on top of thermal vents and adds +250 to the player's energy production, which is high considering its fairly cheap price and low build time. As it provides very reliable energy, it is advantageous to seize control of as many thermal vents as the player can manage until fusion power becomes available.
