The Promised Land journals were the findings of certain Outcasts in the Undercity of the Ecumenopolis planet of Taris who searching for the Promised Land, a near-mythical paradise, located on Taris. Each one contained various recorded clues of the location of the fabled paradise. In 3956 BBY, the Outcast named, Rukil was searching for the journal of his apprentice Malya, his father's journal, and the journal of his grandfather. Rukil obtained the aid of the amnesiac former Sith Lord, Revan in order to find the journals and locate the Promised Land.
