Brian Dean played Phil Braithwaite in Coronation Street in 1961. The character moved into 15a Coronation Street in October of that year and therefore became a short-term resident and possibly would have been a regular in the programme but the Equity actors' strike meant that the role was curtailed and he did not return after the end of the dispute. His only other known credited appearance was in the BBC's 1954 presentation of Six Characters in Search of an Author.
