During a mission by Princess Sally and the Substitute Freedom Fighters to expose Robotnik's Auto-Automaton facility, Stealth 'Bots emerged to attack the heroes after Robotnik's scheme was thwarted. On a signal from Geoffrey St. John, the Rebel Underground, including Lieutenant Smiley and Commander Fleming, arrived in a digging machine to rescue the heroes. Now outnumbered, Robotnik activated the base's self-destruct and escaped. The heroes escaped by commandeering three of Robotnik's air cars from Hangar 18, and the Stealth 'Bots were destroyed in the explosion.
