An optronic integrator was a piece of optronic circuitry used to facilitate connections in security and communications relays aboard a starship or space station. In 2373, a Pah-wraith inhabiting the body of Keiko O'Brien ordered Chief Miles O'Brien to help her reconfigure an optronic integrator on Level 5 of Deep Space 9. When Miles informed his staff he would be working on the integrator, Rom initially wanted to help, because he had an affinity for work involving phase-shifting reconfigurations.
