Srinivas Ramachandra Siras (d. April 4/5, 2010) was an Indian academic. He, at the time of his death, served as Reader and Chair of Modern Indian Languages at Aligarh Muslim University. He was suspended from the university on February 28, 2010 for "gross indecency" after his home in the medical colony of AMU was entered by a few AMU students and local TV news reporters while having consensual sex with a rickshaw-puller from Jamalpur. After legally challenging his suspension, the Allahabad High Court Bench granted an April 1 stay on the suspension, effectively reinstating him.
