Reiner receives a letter from his best friend, Sigrid, stating that he has joined the rebel forces after hearing their speech in town, and encourages him to join him and enlist. Soon after, they receive a mission involving a rebel squad. Reiner, believing that Sigrid may be in that squad, asks Avan to let him go with him to try to talk some sense into his best friend.
