The Trident has high HP and wields a powerful Proton Cannon as well as an Electron Autocannon that is capable of hitting air targets. The Trident is decently fast, but unequipped to engage Submarines. The cheapest of all frigates, Trident Class can destroy all other frigates in a 1 vs 1 combat, due to a higher DPS than the other frigates.
