Caesar is the deuteragonist-turned-main protagonist of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, the main protagonist of the 2014 sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and the upcoming third sequel War of the Planet of the Apes. He is potrayed by English actor Andy Serkis, through full motion capture performance, Serkis also played the villain Gollum of the Lord of the Rings series and the anti-hero King Kong in the 2005 remake both through motion capture.
