Under Common Law, none of the statutes are actually written down. This is because being 'common' they contain a high proportion of offensive words. Thus instead of consulting statute-books, it is up-to every Scot to make whatever interpretation they wish of the Law. Within reason. That said, it is worth bearing in-mind that a Judge may not necessarily make the same interpretation of the Law as do you. This can be a problem.
