The 2nd Orbital Special Warfare Battalion (OSW/B2) was an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (ODST) operational detachment of the UNSC Marine Corps and the UNSC Special Operations Command. It included several composite companies, including Major Boltzmann's Gauntlet Company, and would participate extensively with Asphodel Meadows Naval Special Warfare Center in PATRIOT / FORECAST, engaging in practice wargame exercises with ONI trainee "Talon". Over two years, OSW/B2 would suffer sixty-four fatalities and many more casualties, all the direct result of the unit's participation in the training of Kimberly Ivy Blackburn, suffering a significant loss in personnel and operational strength and capacity.
